Montgomery County is updating local roadways using county road bond funds — design work is underway to expand Calvary, Cude Cemetery and Lone Star roads while widening on Lake Mount Pleasant and Coaltown roads began in January and February; project costs range from $872,040 to $4.8 million.
Sam Houston Memorial Museum and Republic of Texas Presidential Library is launching a free family program starting Saturday, June 13. It runs every Saturday until July 25 (excluding July 4) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features textile dyeing, black powder muskets, quilting, and homemade ice cream making.
