- ➤ The historic Crighton Theatre, built over 90 years ago by former Mayor Harry M. Crighton, is replacing its aging seats and flooring through seat sponsorships. The renovation began on Dec. 22 and will finish by January end ahead of February shows. Conroe Today
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ An 11-year-old Magnolia ISD student suffered a fatal medical emergency on a school bus Tuesday, and MCSO said no foul play is suspected while Bear Branch Intermediate offers counseling support. ABC 13
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City urges residents to prepare for possible freezing temperatures later this week and weekend by checking on elderly neighbors, pets, pipes, and plants. City staff will continue monitoring forecast conditions and share updates as they become available. Conroe Today
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery County Hospital District will add ambulance stations and technology to address rising EMS calls. Station 24 opens this month at Fire Station 5 in the Woodlands and Station 46 will open in August on FM 2824 south of Lake Conroe (four new ambulances boost the fleet to 41 vehicles). KSAM
