Good morning, Conroe.

Lake Conroe Beach Park will reopen after being closed since early 2024—following a new lease approved with the Herberts and the San Jacinto River Authority—with a soft opening on April 12 and a grand opening on May 24 as renovations proceed in three phases.

Investigators identified 37-year-old Don Dixon Jr.—whose body was found inside a Montgomery County home in the Conroe area on Saturday at about 1:52 p.m. when deputies responded to a welfare call—in what they believe was a homicide.
