- ➤ Conroe ISD students are uniting after a 16-year-old from College Park High took his own life on the I-45 and Highway 242 flyover. Junior Lacy Tinnell started a petition that has collected over 13,000 signatures and prompted Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough to meet with TxDOT to discuss additional safety barriers. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Conroe City Council approved the qualifications request for design and build services for Fire Station 8 during its April 24 session and began contract talks with SLI Group, chosen out of two companies + known for keeping costs down. The project will cost about $5 million, with $4.2 million set for design and construction, and the new station is planned along FM 3083 pending final approval. KSAM
