Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 29th of May.
Good morning, Conroe.
🏘️ Community
Residents near Broken Bough Lane have been without power for nearly two days after a slow-moving storm brought down trees - a delay far exceeding Entergy Texas’s promised 12-hour timeline.
Entergy Texas said its crews are working to restore power - while using new technology and infrastructure improvements to better handle severe weather.
🏛️ Government
Residents on Eastwood Drive in Woodbranch have dealt with severe flooding for years, but city officials said the current budget does not allow cleaning the clogged ditch.
Mayor Tyson said a federal grant may fund mitigation efforts later, though work may take up to three years (raising concerns over the coming hurricane season).
