EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ At a June 5 workshop, Lone Star College System officials said the fiscal year 2025—26 budget will have $21 million left after covering other expenses from nearly $244.5 million in revenue, and tuition will not rise. The budget will be formally considered on August 7 and a tax rate adopted on October 2 — officials say the funds will address future priorities. KSAM
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ TxDOT launched its 'Click It or Ticket' campaign to improve highway safety after officials discussed the effort on the Around Town show over the weekend. Information Officer Bob Colwell and Assistant Area Engineer Mat Hensarling said the program aims to increase seat belt use and reduce highway injuries. KSAM
