- ➤ Tuesday, Montgomery County commissioners formed a committee to study law enforcement salaries after Houston police were set to receive a 36 percent raise over the next five years. The committee, which includes members from the county budget office, attorney's office, risk management, sheriff and constables' offices, and the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Association, will report its findings at August budget workshops.
