CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On June 17th, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Conroe Police Department — members of the USMS Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force — arrested 38-year-old fugitive Jose Alfredo Gambino Jr. for aggravated robbery, and he is now held in Montgomery County Jail. Conroe Today
FINANCE NEWS
- ➤ A global report downgraded the rating on Conroe’s $147 million Hyatt Regency Hotel and Convention Center’s second-lien revenue bonds to CCC — warning that without improved cash flow the project will default on its subordinate debt in April of 2026. S&P Global Ratings kept its B rating on the first-lien debt while analysts noted the cash flow only meets the September debt service payment. KSAM

- ➤ The Montgomery County Public Health District announced that extended back-to-school immunizations will be available Saturday, June 28th from 9:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Conroe clinic, which will charge $10 per shot for uninsured children 6 months to 18 years old and accept Traditional Medicaid—children who are underinsured, American-Indian or Alaskan native are eligible—at 1300 South Loop 336 West.
