EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Sam Houston State University will open its new Health Professions Building next to the College of Osteopathic Medicine in February to meet local health care needs and offer four academic programs, with students beginning to use the building in summer— the project is estimated to cost about $65 to $70 million. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On June 24, Montgomery County officials outlined in commissioners’ court plans to seek CMAQ grants that could provide over $40 million for traffic flow improvements—projects include Hardin Store Road and Dobbin-Huffsmith Road reconstructions, fiber interconnections for traffic signals and an intelligent transportation system to monitor congestion. The county will work with local cities and school districts for interlocal agreements if the federally funded projects are approved. KSAM
