CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A deputy from Montgomery County Precinct 2 stopped traffic on FM 1485 in Conroe early this morning and arrested Alicia Ray, 43, for possession of a controlled substance — with five outstanding warrants, and Anthony Ramey, 46, for falsification of drug test results and controlled substance possession. - ➤ A Houston drug dealer was convicted of murder and sentenced to 50 years in prison for selling fentanyl that caused the October 2023 death of Montgomery County veteran Justin Fortin, an expectant father whose loss led his mother to say the drug sale took her future child away — this conviction is only the second under Texas’ fentanyl murder law. - ➤ Conroe ISD closed its application window for a new superintendent on Friday, July 18 — many qualified candidates submitted their materials after five community forums and over 5,000 survey responses were collected. The board will meet on August 5 to review the applications while the survey stays open until July 28. KSAM
