On Saturday, July 12th, a Montgomery Historical Society meeting brought longtime friends together—after the meeting, Historical Society President Billy Ray Duncan shared local history details and upcoming event plans over lunch at Old Montgomery Steakhouse.
Later, he invited his friend to join his family at Vernon’s Kuntry Katfish to celebrate his son’s 63rd birthday.
🏛️ Government
A new interactive entrance is planned for Veterans Memorial Park and the central library as a Montgomery County group will lease nearly half an acre along the Interstate 45 frontage road for $100 a year for 99 years.
Former County Judge Jimmie Edwards III said the design will include a garden — two huts used by the Navy in World War II that are meant to draw visitors to Honored Mission Hall.
