- ➤ On August 14, 2025, detectives from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Austin Police Department arrested Carl John Butcho II (alias Lance Miller) after he pretended to own Charleston Lane Wedding Venue in Willis and tricked 17 clients out of over $200K; he now faces theft and fraud charges with strict bond conditions. - ➤ Conroe Police and the Montgomery County DA’s Office arrested Gina Torma, 54, on August 14 for practicing medicine without a license at her Glow Aesthetic and Wellness clinic at 333 N. - ➤ Today, the San Jacinto River Authority Board of Directors approved a settlement agreement with the City of Conroe that ends litigation over its Groundwater Reduction Plan dispute. Under the agreement, Conroe will release escrow funds and begin paying current rates while SJRA will provide extra surface water and shorten the contract term—steps that are expected to lower water rates and support future growth.
