EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Three Conroe ISD students—April Zhang from Mitchell Intermediate, Alexander Zhang from Bush Elementary, and Duke Garner from Grand Oaks High School—were named finalists in the 2025 I Am Texas Writing and Art Contest hosted by The Bryan Museum. Winners will be announced on Sept. 22, and the finalists' work will be published in the I Am Texas Historian’s Journal while student art will display at the museum’s expo from Sept. 26 through Nov. 23. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery County Judge Vincenzo J. Santini blocked plans for a compressor station to be built next door to Bartholet Home Furnishings in Conroe because its loud compressors and gas flaring pose a nuisance and violate land rules. The temporary order bars Blackfin Pipeline LLC from starting work until a trial in May 2026 and requires the Bartholet family to post a $5,000 bond (set for Tuesday). Click2Houston.com
