- ➤ Conroe ISD will hold a college fair on October 6 at the Lone Star Convention Center at 9055 Airport Road—open to high school students and families from all six feeder zones to meet representatives from more than 175 colleges and military academies. The event will run from 6—8 p.m. and feature presentations at 5:30 on military academy processes and preparing for college visits, at 6:30 on College 101 en Espanol, and at 7:00 on financial aid. - ➤ At the regular session on September 24, Walker County Commissioners approved a motion to allocate $5,000 to the Child Welfare Board to restock the Rainbow Room using rollover funds — Judge Colt Christian discussed the item with Commissioners White and Kuykendall, and both sides signed letters of agreement.
