Here's your local news at a glance for Friday, the 19th of December.
Good morning, Conroe.
🏛️ Government
City officials agreed yesterday to demolish Westside Recreation Center because years of flood damage weakened its structure; they awarded Inland Environments an $88,227 contract to remove the damaged former YMCA building along the West Fork of the San Jacinto River (park amenities remain open for fishing, trails, and the pavilion).
📰 Traffic
The new main bridge at FM 1374 and IH 45 opens today, letting drivers cross the highway and make left turns onto frontage roads — while ongoing work means full lane access and final signal adjustments will come later.
